“When the door of the airplane is opened, the crisp sea air makes you draw breath a couple of extra times. There below is the center of the town, there the lagoon that forms the shoreline, there diagonally beneath us the Hanko airport and north of it the statuesque windmills. With the green light we climb to the doorway and at a shared sign we allow the air current to carry us out into the white clouds, the endless blue sky and the place to descend underneath, all merged into one."
